Doom 2 - Early Levels: Homecoming/Cold Storage/Fext Fortress/Liquid Complex

The Reality of these maps is they are amateurish, they were made by a newcomer to level design who just wanted to make areas they wanted to see in a game they loved. Doom always filled my imagination and despite the die-hard modding scene, no one really spoke of it in my day-to-day until the reboot in 2016. In my spare time I would anonymously post these maps to the /vr/ board on 4chan which I often visited for a period of time. My opinions on all of that era has changed but the maps are a defining part of my growing and understanding of level design. Ideally if one were to try out any of these levels, they should use Boom/Woof as they are designed for limit removing source ports. Due to the nature of how these mods were made I cannot fully remember the original composers of the midis I used or the texture artists for added textures or skys. Fext Fortress is not my first level but is one that I remember being proud of because many liked it for what it was. I posted this anonymously and it was a castle that was inspired by the one in Shadowgate. The praise I got from the community ultimately made me continue designing levels.

Liquid Complex was my traditional Doom map in the vein of Dooms Knee Deep In the Dead levels. With a focus on making it able to be traversed quickly so it could double as a Deathmatch map.

Cold Storage was my desire to create a snowy level in Doom, I feel I went too hard for 'style over substance' but I really do like some of the areas I designed even if just aesthetically. Certainly went too excessive on the secrets.

Homecoming was the first map of a project that never came together. It tried for homages and a Knee Deep in the Dead style.
